Chapter 64: Cracks
by reimuSince Ravi was here, that meant—
Rosvitha looked at the two figures behind them.
As expected, it was the other two Dragon Kings who specialized in spatial magic: Blai and Jagus.
“It’s been a while, Silver Dragon Queen.”
Ravi raised his hand, and dozens of spatial transmission arrays opened behind him, with hundreds of giant dragons flying out in sequence.
They charged toward the distant Silver Dragon warriors, and both sides immediately engaged in battle without a word.
“I didn’t expect you to actually kill Sta. To be honest, that man beside you has power far beyond my comprehension.”
Ravi said, “Someone like him continuing to exist in this world would be trouble for both dragonkind and the Empire.”
“Silver Dragon Queen, you chose the wrong side. Whether you chose to stay neutral or cooperate with us and the Empire like we did, your Silver Dragon clan would have been guaranteed prosperity for thousands of years.”
“But you chose to help Leon Casmode instead.”
“So I can only regrettably tell you that both of you… must be eliminated.”
The couple stood back-to-back, with Rosvitha facing Ravi. Her imposing aura undiminished, she coldly replied, “There was never any question of choosing sides. I simply did what I believed was right.”
“As for staying neutral? Heh… has my Silver Dragon clan’s low profile for so long made you mistake me for someone who fears death?”
Ravi frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, and responded, “I admire your courage to stake everything, Silver Dragon Queen, but as I said, you both will be eliminated today.”
“The battle with Sta has almost completely drained your strength, hasn’t it?”
“But don’t worry, I won’t use violent means to send you off – that’s the advantage of spatial magic.”
Though Ravi appeared calm on the surface, he was actually panicking inside.
If these two hadn’t been drained of their magic and energy by Sta, he wouldn’t have dared to charge in with Blai and Jagus.
That would have been tantamount to suicide.
Now, Nacho’s so-called “trump card for victory” would finally be played as their last resort.
Ravi raised his hand, and a complex, intricate magic array slowly appeared in his palm.
The other two Dragon Kings did the same.
“Spatial magic… we have no idea what their attack method will be.”
Leon said, “But anyway, let’s deal with the chatty one first, okay?”
Rosvitha nodded, “Alright.”
After a pause, she asked, “Do you have enough magic power left?”
Leon felt his body – that last attack had consumed almost all of his magic power.
But he still had his Nine Hells Gate martial arts technique.
Though he wasn’t sure how far martial arts alone would get him against three Dragon Kings.
Still, they had to try. What else could they do – stand there like training dummies waiting for their opponents to strike?
“I probably can’t use magic for now. I’ll attract his attention while you attack from the side,” Leon said.
“Okay, be careful.”
“Mm, let’s go.”
After quickly forming their strategy, the couple spread out to the left and right, charging toward Ravi.
Their speed was incredible, appearing before Ravi almost instantly.
Leon’s right foot pushed off the ground as he leaped into the air, his knee aimed directly at Ravi’s face.
The divine speed of the Fourth Gate gave his simple knee strike unimaginable destructive power.
Meanwhile, Rosvitha gathered her dragon flame nearby, preparing to attack Ravi from the side.
Everything was developing according to their plan.
But just as Leon was about to touch Ravi, a light blue barrier suddenly rose from the ground, blocking between Leon and Ravi, intercepting Leon’s attack on Ravi’s behalf.
After landing, Leon and Rosvitha immediately distanced themselves from the barrier.
After all, for them, spatial magic was something they had never encountered before, and they had no idea what this type of magic’s attack pattern would be like.
“What’s with this barrier……”
As soon as the words fell, two other barriers also emerged from the ground, forming a closed triangular area with the barrier in front of Ravi.
Leon and Rosvitha were trapped inside, with limited room for movement.
S-class Spatial Magic · Gate of the Future
Rosvitha tried to attack the barrier with dragon flame.
But the moment the flames touched the barrier, they mysteriously disappeared.
About a second or two later, a burst of fire appeared far away.
Rosvitha squinted to look – she recognized it as the effect of her attack hitting empty ground.
“This barrier transfers magical attacks to a far-off location.”
Rosvitha gently pressed against the barrier, her tone grave, “And your physical attacks earlier didn’t affect it at all. This is troublesome…”
The spatial barrier was different from Sta’s absolute defense.
When breaking through Sta’s defense, Leon had relied on the penetrating power of Chidori combined with the ultra-high kinetic energy of divine speed – a combination of magic and physical techniques.
But this spatial barrier not only had extraordinary hardness, it could even transfer magical attacks.
This meant that to break it, they could only use physical means.
“Since Fourth Gate’s attacks are ineffective against it—”
As Leon spoke, he slowly bent his knees and waist, placing his clenched fists at his sides.
An invisible force emanated from his body, causing pebbles on the ground to bounce continuously.
Nine Hells · Fifth Gate · Habit Star
Building on the divine speed of the Fourth Gate, it greatly enhanced the user’s physical strength and instantaneous explosive power.
Of course, starting from the Fifth Gate, the side effects of the Nine Gates would gradually become more apparent.
But Leon had no time to worry about side effects now – who knew what other tricks this spatial magic had in store.
He had to break through this damn barrier quickly.
With the Fifth Gate released, faint steam rose from the gaps in the black gold battle armor.
It was the steam of sweat.
Leon let out a low growl, kicked off the ground with his right foot, and shot forward.
He instantly rushed to Ravi’s front, swung out a Habit Star punch, and heavily struck the spatial barrier.
As the punch landed, even the surrounding ground began to shake, and the barrier showed some signs of wavering.
Ravi gritted his teeth, continuously channeling magical power into the barrier formation, barely managing to block Leon’s punch.
The burden and pain the Fifth Gate brought to the body was incomparable to the Fourth Gate, but similarly, its power amplification was also unimaginably exaggerated.
However, this move still failed to break through Ravi’s spatial barrier.
Ravi secretly breathed a sigh of relief, “Stop struggling needlessly, Casmode. You can’t break through the barrier. I just said, although you’ll be erased, it will be painless. Wouldn’t it be better to quietly accept your fate?”
Leon endured the pain coursing through his limbs and bones, “Shut up, old man. Do I look like someone who would quietly submit?”
He retreated to Rosvitha’s side and lowered his voice, “A magical barrier of this strength couldn’t possibly be maintained by Ravi alone. The other two must also be contributing significantly.”
“This approach has very obvious advantages and disadvantages.”
“The advantage is, as we’re seeing now, with just the two of us, it’s very difficult to counter all three of them.”
“But the disadvantage is that if any one of them falters or makes a mistake, the barrier’s strength would be greatly reduced.”
As he spoke, Leon’s gaze turned to the silver dragon tribe and star wandering dragon tribe engaged in close combat in the distance, and he quietly sighed,
“But it looks like no one can help us from the outside…”
Leon’s thinking was simple – if even one of the three maintaining this spatial formation was disturbed, he might be able to take advantage and break through.
But the frustrating part was that all the Silver Dragon warriors were now completely tied down by the Star Wandering Dragon tribe members Ravi had transported here, and no one could break through to help.
What a desperate situation…
However, an even more desperate moment arrived.
A magic formation appeared beneath the married couple’s feet, and in its center, a small crack emerged.
This crack flickered with a deep blue light, making it impossible to see what lay beyond it.
And it was slowly expanding, as if wanting to pull both Leon and Rosvitha into it.
Rosvitha stared intently at the expanding crack, her mind racing,
“Ravi has been talking about ‘erasing’ us rather than ‘killing’ us since earlier, so this thing might not be some kind of sealing technique or spatial annihilation, it seems more like…”
Combining with how her dragon flame had been transferred far away earlier, Rosvitha deduced,
“A teleportation technique… Ravi wants to send us to a completely unknown place.”
“How clever, Dragon Queen.”
Ravi smiled smugly, “You’re absolutely right, this is indeed a powerful teleportation formation. In the current world, people or magic capable of killing Leon Casmode probably don’t exist. So… sending him far away is the most correct choice.”
This was his trump card, executed with unexpected strategy.
Though this so-called ‘trump card’ still hadn’t actually managed to kill Leon.
But it didn’t matter – as long as he could send this troublesome figure away, Ravi couldn’t care less whether he lived or died.
“You won’t be lonely in that completely unknown world, Leon Casmode, since you’ll have the Dragon Queen accompanying you.”
“Oh right, don’t you two have children? If I had known earlier, I should have captured them and sent them into the formation too. That way your whole family could reunite in another world and live however you want.”
“Ah, though I still can’t understand how a proud Dragon Queen could lower herself to unite with a human?”
BANG—
Leon slammed hard against the barrier, “Old man, stay out of my wife and my business!”
“Tch, Casmode, I’d heard you were one of the most stubborn in the Dragon Slaying Army, but I never expected you to still be this hard-headed even now.” Ravi, confident in his victory, continued chatting leisurely with Leon.
Rosvitha started, looking at Leon, “So you were famous for being stubborn even before marrying me……”
“Tsk— That’s just them slandering me, I’m never stubborn.” Leon explained.
“Really? Then when are you going to confess your feelings to me?”
“That’s not urgent.”
“Why isn’t it urgent? I’m very urgent about it.”
“Your urgency doesn’t matter.”
The couple bickered, completely ignoring the spatial crack beneath their feet.
They even totally disregarded Ravi outside the barrier.
“You dog of a man, I knew it, you don’t want to take responsibility, do you?”
“How am I not taking responsibility? If I didn’t want to take responsibility, would we have had so many kids?”
“I gave birth to all of them! I gave birth to all of them!”
“You’re being really ungrateful with those words. Could you have given birth by yourself without me?”
Ravi: “Enough…”
“Don’t you know dragons can reproduce through cocoons?”
“Cocoon-born ones have intellectual deficits.”
Ravi: “Hey……”
“How do cocoon-born ones have intellectual deficits?”
“Forgot about those three chubby dragons that Noia beat three-on-one?”
Ravi: “I said that’s enough!! What are you doing? You’re about to die and you’re still arguing?”
The husband and wife synchronized in stopping their quarrel, both turning to look at Ravi.
“What are we doing? We’re distracting your attention, of course.”
“Wha-what……”
Before the words could fall, a sharp bird cry suddenly rang out behind Ravi.
A small black figure leaped up, thrusting lightning gathered in hand toward Ravi’s shoulder.
