Chapter Index

When thousands of dragons were engaged in battle, with magic clashing and giant dragons roaring, almost no one would notice a small child’s movements.
But even so, crossing the battlefield still required tremendous courage and exceptional alertness beyond one’s years.
The lightning of Chidori illuminated that young face – though only a two-year-old child, the resolution and determination in her eyes were no less than an adult’s.
Some said Noia K. Melkvi was just a paper tiger, a bookworm, or just a kid who bullied her classmates.
But today, facing an opponent of the Star Wandering Dragon King’s caliber, her attack showed no hesitation.
Like her father, she had no need to prove anything to others – she would do what she believed was right, regardless of consequences.
Even if it was dangerous, life-risking, or potentially a one-way trip.
Ravi slowly turned his head, but before he could clearly see who was attacking, a sharp pain shot through his right shoulder.
His wrist trembled, but he quickly steadied himself, spinning to deliver a side kick that sent the small figure flying.
Ravi looked at Noia, his eyes unable to hide their ferocity and rage, “Just a mere child…”
Being successfully ambushed by a child was an immense humiliation for someone of his status as Dragon King.
But this must be the daughter of the Silver Dragon Queen and Casmode, right? Ravi squinted at Noia who lay on the ground – she was indeed much stronger than normal young dragons.
Much stronger.
But even so, she was still just a child, and even with a successful sneak attack, she couldn’t possibly shake him, the Star Wandering Dragon King, in the slightest.
“Don’t worry, you little brat, after I deal with your parents, you’ll be next—”
“You dare… hit my daughter?”
In the instant after hearing these words, time seemed to enter slow motion.
Ravi inwardly cursed his carelessness and immediately tried to shift his gaze from Noia, but in that split second, the barrier before him shattered like fragile glass into countless pieces.
Then, a large hand thrust through the fragments, firmly gripping Ravi’s throat.
In that moment, Ravi felt his throat bones and windpipe were about to be crushed.
He desperately tried to maintain composure, attempting to raise his hand to reconstitute the barrier.
But it was too late.
Ravi’s body was lifted high like a rag doll by Leon, then swung in an arc through the air before being violently slammed into the ground.
The force of the impact was so great it created a shallow crater beneath Ravi, with cracks rapidly spreading outward.
Ravi’s back also took massive damage, the impact nearly shattering his lungs.
The Star Wandering Dragon King was now completely shocked speechless by the man’s strength before him.
He was… a Dragon King!
How could a Dragon King’s body be as fragile as paper in this man called Casmode’s hands?!
Dragon eyes blazing with indescribable fury and shock, he clutched at Leon’s wrist, trying to break free.
Steam from sweat continued to rise from beneath the silver armor as Leon increased his grip even further.
Ravi let out a muffled groan, his eyes bulging and instantly becoming bloodshot.
After a moment, the man in armor spoke in a low voice, “Don’t move.”
These two simple words, devoid of emotion, came as an absolute command.
And this “don’t move” wasn’t just directed at Ravi, but also at the other two Dragon Kings.
As Leon restrained Ravi, Rosvitha immediately rushed to Noia’s side.
“Noia! Noia, are you alright?”
The queen knelt down, holding her daughter in her arms.
Blood trickled from the corner of Noia’s mouth. Although her earlier surprise attack had successfully distracted Ravi, creating an opportunity for Leon to break through the barrier, she was still just a two-year-old child. Having been kicked forcefully by a Dragon King, how could her still-developing body not be injured?
Rosvitha used basic healing magic to ease Noia’s injuries.
Noia gradually regained consciousness.
Her first words upon waking were, “Did I help, mama…?”
Rosvitha’s eyes brimmed with hot tears as she wiped the dust and blood from her daughter’s face. “Yes, you helped. Noia helped mama and papa very much.”
The frown of pain on her face slowly relaxed, and Noia managed a weak smile. “That’s good then.”
Rosvitha held her daughter in her arms as she slowly stood up, looking toward Leon in the distance.
Leon was looking back at her.
She nodded slightly, indicating that Noia was alright now.
Just as Leon was about to respond, he suddenly felt Ravi’s breathing become slightly stronger, and then—
BOOM!—
A devastating punch landed point-blank on Ravi’s face, smashing his entire head into the ground.
Blood flowed into the cracks in the ground, and Ravi’s limbs twitched.
“I said, don’t. move.”
The last dragon who had called Leon’s wife and daughter his weakness had already lost his head;
As for what would happen to this one who had actually hurt Noia…
Well, even breathing was a mistake.
Leon gripped the half-dead Ravi and slowly lifted him up.
This scene left the remaining two Dragon Kings dumbfounded.
This… this wasn’t matching up with the intelligence provided by the Empire at all!
Wasn’t Leon Casmode’s strength supposed to be just slightly above Constantine’s?
What?
Could it be that humans and dragons had different definitions of “slightly”?
One-punching Ravi – THIS is what you call “slightly”?!
Blai and Jaguss slowly backed away, the spatial magic formation gradually dissipating.
But the azure crack on the ground didn’t disappear.
“What do we do now? Sta is dead, and Ravi’s probably not far behind.”
Blai swallowed nervously, “Do we really need to keep fighting that monster?”
But there was no response beside him.
“Jaguss? Jaguss? Hey?”
Blai turned his head to look, but there was no one there.
Blai: ?
Space magic sure was convenient – you could run away without even your own teammates noticing.
Seeing this situation, Blai also immediately activated his spatial magic, making a lightning-fast escape.
A monster like Leon – whoever wanted to kill him could go ahead. He wasn’t going to wade into this mess.
With both helpers fleeing, Ravi had completely lost any path to survival.
He was held by his throat in mid-air by Leon, on the verge of suffocation at any moment.
At this point… was there any way to salvage the situation?
Should he try to die together with Leon like Sta did?
No, impossible.
Who knew what other trump cards Leon hadn’t revealed yet? Mutual destruction might work with other opponents, but definitely not with this armored monster.
Even the dragon race’s bone-deep desire for revenge had to be reined in when facing Leon.
Ravi’s foggy brain desperately tried to think.
Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the spatial crack.
“Ah… in that case…” he muttered.
“What?”
“Leon Casmode, let’s make a bet – let’s see if you really can give up everything for your so-called family.”
“What are you going to—”
Ravi suddenly burst into action, kicking against Leon’s chest plate with all his might, and with a powerful push, there was the sound of flesh tearing.
Blood sprayed from Ravi’s throat as he used this self-mutilating method to break free from Leon’s restraint.
Even Leon was momentarily startled by Ravi’s frenzied action.
By the time he came to his senses, Ravi had already staggered to the spatial crack.
One hand clutching his bleeding throat, the other placed over his heart.
“I admit it, Leon Casmode. With your strength, even more Dragon Kings would be no match,” Ravi’s voice was hoarse from his throat injury.
“Your admission means nothing to me, Ravi.”
“Hmph… True enough. Someone as invincible as you needs no one’s recognition. But, as I just said, can you really risk everything for those you care about?”
“What exactly are you planning to do?”
Ravi didn’t answer. The next second, his heart began to glow with light.
After a moment, Ravi forcibly tore a dragon scale from his heart.
This scale was different from the normal scales covering his body – it was more translucent, like a crystal clear gem.
Rosvitha narrowed her eyes slightly, “Heart-protecting dragon scale…”
Ravi wasn’t planning to self-destruct like Sta, because dragons could only gather the energy needed for self-destruction when their heart-protecting scale was still in place.
So what exactly was Ravi planning to do…
“Say goodbye to this world!”
Ravi raised the scale high, then plunged it into the spatial crack below him.
The moment the dragon scale entered the crack, it erupted with terrifying energy, instantly annihilating Ravi who was closest to it.
Leon reacted swiftly, rushing to Rosvitha and Noia’s side, immediately opening the Fifth Gate of the Nine Hells to take mother and daughter to safety.
Fortunately, the explosion’s range was small and didn’t last long.
When the energy dissipated, beside Ravi’s charred corpse, a spatial crack nearly two meters wide had appeared.
Moreover, the crack was continuously expanding, with surrounding rocks and sand being sucked in by its powerful force.
Even Ravi’s corpse was pulled in.
Inside the crack, only rolling black clouds and constant lightning could be seen.
It created a stark contrast with the surrounding environment, as if a gash had been forcibly torn in reality itself.
“He used his heart-protecting scale to forcibly activate the transportation magic from earlier.”
Rosvitha said, “But clearly, the magic has gone out of control. The crack is constantly expanding, and although it’s slow, if this continues, everything nearby will be swallowed up before long. And we don’t know when it will stop.”
One wave hadn’t settled before another arose.
After Ravi’s death, all the Star-Wandering dragon clan members retreated.
The Silver Dragon clan’s warriors had also arrived, and they too noticed the continuously expanding crack.
Anna stood beside Rosvitha, and after inquiring about Noia’s injuries, began discussing how to close the crack. “What if we counter it with equal magical power? Could that forcibly stop it?”
Rosvitha bit her lip. There really weren’t any other options right now. She wasn’t very familiar with spatial magic either, so they could only try.
After confirming the plan, the Silver Dragon clan gathered their energy simultaneously and fired at the crack.
However, all their magical attacks were simply absorbed by the crack, having no effect whatsoever.
Cold sweat ran down Anna’s temple, “How can this be…”
As they spoke, the crack had already expanded to about five meters.
The pulling force had grown stronger too.
Rosvitha stared at the crack. If it had gone out of control because of Ravi’s heart-protecting scale, then thinking in reverse, perhaps another Dragon King’s heart-protecting scale could stop it.
And she was the only Dragon King present.
If she could, Rosvitha would use her own heart-protecting scale without hesitation to end this crisis.
But her dragon scale had already—
“I understand now.”
Leon’s voice was muffled.
Rosvitha looked at him, “What?”
“Before opening the crack, Ravi asked if I would really risk everything for you all. I think that’s what he meant…”
He lowered his head, pondering for a moment, before slowly looking at his wife beside him, “Only I can stop it.”
Hearing this, Rosvitha froze, her silver eyes trembling slightly. She seemed to have guessed what Leon was planning to do.
“Leon… no… absolutely not…”
The queen’s voice shook slightly.
She couldn’t accept such an outcome.
Could never accept it, no matter what.
Leon didn’t answer, only raised his hands to try removing the Black Gold War Chariot’s helmet.
This time, it came off smoothly.
Beneath the helmet was that stern profile she had seen countless times, every scar on his face familiar to her.
Leon showed no expression as he silently tried to place the helmet in Rosvitha’s hands.
Clatter—
The helmet fell to the ground.
She hadn’t dared to take it.
“No… Leon, no…”
Rosvitha held Noia with one arm while trying to grasp Leon’s wrist with the other. She was almost crying, “We’ll think of another way, there must be another way.”
Leon remained silent for a moment, gently freeing himself from Rosvitha’s grip.
He turned to look at their daughter in her arms.
The pain had caused Noia to lose consciousness temporarily.
Perhaps… that was for the best.
Leon raised his hand, gently pinching Noia’s cheek.
After a long while, that strong face showed a contented smile.
“You will protect your mother and sisters well, Noia.”
He trusted his eldest daughter, just as she had trusted that as long as she diverted Ravi’s attention, her father would surely be able to turn the tide.
“Your Highness…”
“Your Highness, I… I can go seal the rift in your place! The Silver Dragon clan cannot be without you!” a dragon soldier said.
Hearing that a dragon wanted to sacrifice themselves for him, Leon felt conflicted.
He looked at the soldier and shook his head,
“Sealing the rift isn’t just about having courage and determination. I don’t want to sound arrogant by saying this task can only be done by me, but unfortunately, that’s the reality.”
Ravi’s last words were both a dying wish and a curse – he wanted Leon to make this crucial choice.
Of course, besides that, as Leon said, among those present, only he had the ability to stop the rift.
Rosvitha’s power might not be enough.
Even if it were enough, Leon wouldn’t let her do it.
Rosvitha’s assessment of him was completely accurate:
A confident, dramatic fool who loves playing the hero.
But you know what?
What boy hasn’t fantasized about being the lone hero who, when the world is ending, charges forward against all odds, saving everything from the brink of destruction while everyone watches with hope and amazement?
Leon was just making that fantasy a reality.
He took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, then gradually stepped forward toward the abyss-like rift.
“Leon! Leon, you can’t go, you absolutely cannot go.”
Rosvitha rushed over and gripped Leon’s hand tightly, speaking in an almost pleading tone, “If you go, I’ll hate you for the rest of my life, I really will hate you forever, you must not go.”
Leon blinked, somewhat choked up. He didn’t look at Rosvitha and lowered his voice, “You are the Dragon Queen, Rosvitha. Don’t lose your composure in front of your people.”
“I… I’ll go with you—”
“Then what about our daughters?”
“……”
Leon gently pressed down Rosvitha’s hand.
This time, she didn’t try to stop him.
He stepped to the edge of the rift, his back to the Silver Dragon Queen.
The rift’s pull grew stronger, stirring up a powerful wind.
Her silver hair danced in the wind; she dared not turn to look at Leon.
“Rosvitha Melkvi.”
Whenever he called her full name, it seemed he always had something important to say.
Rosvitha hesitated briefly, but finally gathered the courage to raise her eyes to look at him.
That towering figure stood before the abyssal rift, half-turning his head, with a peaceful smile on his face.
He then said three more words.
But they were swallowed by the howling of the rift.
The next moment, Leon’s figure disappeared into it.
Vast surges of lightning power raged within.
The rift began to shake, lightning leaking out, causing everyone to retreat to the side.
Gradually, the spatial rift began to shrink at a visible rate.
Until it finally vanished completely.
“Your Highness……”
“Your Majesty? Your Majesty…”
Rosvitha held Noia, speechless and lost, walking to where he had been standing.
She slowly knelt down, picked up the helmet on the ground, and clutched it tightly to her chest.
It seemed as if it still held his warmth.
