Chapter Index

“We’ll be together for life, won’t we?”
After the Queen’s words, the temple was completely silent, with only their breathing audible.
Rosvitha stood on the lower step, looking up at the half-dressed man on the throne.
Their silver and black eyes met, seeming to create invisible sparks in the air.
Seeing Leon’s strange expression, Rosvitha quickly added,
“When I say ‘together’… I mean objectively living together, not… not that kind of together.”
Her voice grew quieter as she spoke.
Finally, Rosvitha turned her gaze away, looking at the polished floor as she asked softly,
“Do you understand what I mean?”
“I understand.”
“Good, then—”
“You want to grow old together with me.”
Rosvitha: ?
“You understand nothing!”
Rosvitha angrily climbed the steps, stood before Leon, put her hands on her hips, and huffily explained, “Who wants to grow old with you? I’d never let you see what I look like when I’m old.”
Leon was stunned, “So it’s because you don’t want me to see you when you’re older that you won’t grow old with me…”
“Mind your own business. Anyway, ‘growing old together’ is… inappropriate.”
Rosvitha thought for a moment and quickly came up with another explanation,
“You’re my prisoner, bound to my side for life to help develop dragon rune functions. Isn’t that only natural?”
Clap Clap Clap
Leon couldn’t help but applaud, “Brilliant, Your Majesty. Whenever you can’t find a suitable reason, you fall back on me being your prisoner. That trick really works every time.”
Rosvitha couldn’t be bothered to argue with him anymore.
It was just making things worse.
She was simply repeating what he had just made her say:
We’ll be together for life.
“What’s wrong with that phrase? Is it too ambiguous? Too mushy? Does it really represent our mutual love?”
Really, it doesn’t represent anything!
The scoundrel kept going on and on about this phrase. Her Majesty had been too generous with her smiles.
Rosvitha stepped forward and sat back down on Leon’s lap.
This close position made her gaze slightly higher than Leon’s, so Rosvitha looked down at Leon in his seat, her arms encircling his bare arms.
“Stop talking nonsense, idiot. If you can accept the method I just mentioned, then let’s inscribe the second dragon mark now.”
The current dragon mark only gave Leon enough power for ten minutes at full strength.
Although in these ten minutes he could deal with six Dragon Kings, this was Leon’s limit.
After battles, Leon would fall into an extremely weak state, needing Rosvitha’s support just to walk.
And battlefield situations were unpredictable – enemies wouldn’t always let him be so lucky as to just walk away.
So… increasing the magic reserve was absolutely necessary.
Leon nodded, “No problem, I accept.”
“Oh? You can really accept it?”
Rosvitha lightly traced her fingers along Leon’s nape, tilting her head slightly as her silver hair fell, “I should warn you though – the desires brought by two dragon marks will be doubled. Don’t come clinging to me every day then, that would truly be unbefitting of a dragon-slaying hero.”
Leon snorted with laughter, raising his hand to grasp Rosvitha’s wrist. He leaned forward, pressing close to her ear, his nose lightly brushing against her earlobe.
Rosvitha knew he wanted to retort with some harsh words, like “worry about yourself first” or “I can definitely control myself.”
She knew this scoundrel’s personality too well.
So she prepared herself for his pushback.
However, she heard Leon say:
“Then you better be careful, Melkvi. I’ll make you faint, just like that time when you woke up from the Blood Confusion.”
“……”
Her prediction failed.
She was even countered.
Rosvitha pushed his shoulders, pressing him against the throne’s backrest. “Stop the big talk. I am a noble Dragon King’s body – how could your weak human form hope to conquer me? Come back in two hundred years.”
“IamanobleDragonKing’sbody~”
Leon mimicked Rosvitha’s words in a mocking tone, then said, “Sorry, Your Majesty, but your noble Dragon King’s body already bears my human shape—”
“Ah shut up!”
Rosvitha couldn’t take it anymore.
Embarrassed and angry, she punched Leon’s arm.
Leon stopped teasing her and became serious, saying, “Let’s begin then. What do I need to do to help?”
Rosvitha shook her head, “Nothing. Just like when I first inscribed your dragon mark, just lie there and don’t do anything.”
“OK.”
Just lying there to get a power-up patch – this version is definitely still my, Leon Casmode’s, world!
Although there might be some debuffs afterward, overall it’s still an upgrade.
Leon obediently sat still on the throne.
Rosvitha slowly raised her right hand, her palm flowing with silver magical light.
“Where do you want it inscribed?” Rosvitha asked.
“Oh? I can choose the location?”
“Of course, we dragons’ magic is very user-friendly.”
“Hmm…” Leon pretended to think deeply, then grinned, “Can it be inscribed on my butt? That way people won’t easily discover it.”
Rosvitha rolled her eyes helplessly, “Be serious! Where do you want it? Say it quick.”
“Just below the current dragon mark.”
“You mean… your abdomen?”
“Mm.”
“Tsk tsk tsk.”
Rosvitha clicked her tongue, shaking her head with a ‘I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person’ expression, her eyes carrying a hint of disdain.
Leon blinked, “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You closet pervert,” Rosvitha grumbled resentfully.
Leon was even more confused, “No, how am I a closet pervert?”
“You just are! Shut up, I’m going to inscribe it now. The abdomen, right? Are you sure?”
Leon wanted to say more but held back, pursing his lips and deciding not to argue further. “Mm, I’m sure.”
“Alright, here we go, it might be a bit hot.”
“Mm.”
Rosvitha gently pressed her palm against Leon’s abdomen.
Instantly, a slight burning sensation spread across his abdomen, but it wasn’t very painful.
A silver light flashed, and as Rosvitha lifted her palm, both husband and wife froze.
There was… no dragon mark pattern on Leon’s abdomen.
“Where’s the… dragon mark? Did the magic fail?” Leon asked.
Rosvitha had never encountered this situation before—
No, to be precise, most dragons would never encounter this situation, since no normal couple would be as bizarre as them, inscribing two dragon marks on their bodies.
Rosvitha’s eyes moved slightly, her peripheral vision catching sight of Leon’s exposed right arm.
Looking closer, she saw the dragon mark pattern had appeared on Leon’s right arm!
“It’s… it’s there…” she pointed at Leon’s arm.
Leon turned his head to look.
Indeed, there was a silver dragon mark, coiling around his arm.
Leon’s arm had solid muscle definition, so the dragon mark looked quite harmonious on it, radiating power while having a hint of flair.
“It looks cool, but why did it appear here? Didn’t you inscribe it on my stomach?”
Leon moved his arm but didn’t feel anything unusual.
Rosvitha was also confused, “The books say dragon marks can indeed be placed anywhere, so why did it shift…”
Leon thought for a moment and guessed, “Could it be that only the first dragon mark can be placed freely, and the second one is… random?”
The queen had a sudden realization, “That’s quite possible.”
Leon snorted, “You were just saying how user-friendly dragon magic is, but now it’s appearing randomly.”
Rosvitha poked his chest, retorting, “Being user-friendly includes ‘anticipation and excitement of the unknown’, understand?”
“Tch…” Leon scoffed, then asked, “Now it’s your turn to be marked, I want to see where your second dragon mark will appear.”
After a pause, he added with a mischievous smile, “If it appears on your tail, you’ll have to keep it hidden when going out.”
“Hmph, what’s there to hide? The dragon mark is proof of love between me and my husband, what’s wrong with showing it?”
“Then who’s your husband?” Leon asked smugly.
“Hey you!…”
Rosvitha stopped bantering with him, “Alright, shut up, I need to focus on channeling magic.”
Leon shrugged and made a ‘zipping lips’ gesture.
Rosvitha once again gathered magical energy in her palm.
After a moment, she gently pressed her palm against her own abdomen, while secretly praying:
Please don’t randomly appear in some weird place!
Although she said there was nothing wrong with showing the dragon mark and truly believed that, if it randomly appeared in some strange location…
It would be super awkward when doing homework with Leon later!
The burning sensation rose and gradually subsided.
When the inscription was complete, Rosvitha let out a relieved sigh.
She pulled open her collar and looked down at her abdomen—
“Did it work?” Leon asked.
Rosvitha turned her head away, blushing, “No… not there…”
“Huh? It didn’t work?”
“No, it’s just… my chest is too big, I can’t see my stomach.”
“…That’s a reason I never expected.” Leon was also surprised.
Rosvitha sighed, stood up, and held her skirt hem with both hands, somewhat bashfully, “Then please help me check.”
Leon didn’t understand why she was being shy now, “We’ve been completely honest with each other so many times, why are you being so hesitant?”
“This is different!”
“Okay, okay, it’s different. Well then, excuse me, Your Majesty, please lift your skirt so I can check if there’s a dragon mark on your abdomen.”
It was her own request, but why did it sound so… strange when Leon said it?
The mighty Silver Dragon Queen, having to actively show her stomach to let someone check for a dragon mark pattern… ah ah ah how embarrassing!
Rosvitha bit her lower lip, face red, gradually lifting her skirt.
Round, fair thighs gradually appeared, with black lace trim showing beneath the skirt.
Above that was a smooth, flat abdomen, but there was no pattern on it.
Leon shook his head, “Not there. It might have randomly appeared somewhere else.”
Rosvitha lowered her skirt, looked at her arms, shoulders, and legs, and even checked her tail all around, but couldn’t find the dragon mark.
She scratched her head, perplexed, “Then where could it have randomly appeared…”
Leon raised his hand, gesturing for her to turn around.
Rosvitha complied.
Leon checked her nape and back, but there was no dragon mark there either.
“Oh no, it couldn’t have really appeared on your butt, could it?”
“Absolutely impossible!”
Rosvitha walked quickly down the stairs barefoot, “I’ll go find a mirror and check myself!”
Leon watched her panicked figure, couldn’t help but smile wryly and shake his head, then stood up, put on his clothes and followed.
They returned to the bedroom one after another.
When Leon pushed open the door, he found Rosvitha already sitting on the bed’s edge, with a lifeless expression.
He walked up and asked, “What’s wrong? Your expression tells me the dragon mark didn’t appear on your butt.”
Rosvitha, blushing, kept her head down, holding her wrist between her knees, and said softly,
“It’s… it’s on my lower back.”
Hearing this, General Leon’s face reddened,
“You’re quite bold, Your Majesty. Let me see!”
