Chapter Index

Rosvitha brought Rebecca to a quiet riverside, and the two walked along the stone path by the river while chatting.
And gossiping is always the most effective way for girls to build relationships.
“I knew Leon liked silver and silver-haired girls.”
Rosvitha said, “Hmm… are there any little secrets that only you classmates know about?”
When Teg first met Rosvitha, the old man had told her some of Leon’s embarrassing history and lesser-known weaknesses.
But those were just what Teg knew from a parent’s perspective.
To truly understand someone’s various embarrassing moments during their student years, you need to ask their schoolmates!
And Rebecca wasn’t just Leon’s schoolmate – after graduation, she was even assigned to Leon’s dragon-slaying squad.
With such a close relationship, the little girl must have plenty of dirt on Leon.
What?
You’re asking why the Queen is still obsessed with digging up her husband’s embarrassing history after being married for so long?
Never mind that.
Her Majesty simply loves gossip.
“Something only classmates would know… let me think.”
Rebecca held her chin, seriously recalling.
A moment later, she held up one finger, “Oh~ There really is something. The Captain received lots of love letters during school, but he threw most of them away without even reading them. There was only one person’s letter that he hesitated over before throwing away – you know about this, right?”
Rosvitha nodded.
“That person was the Captain’s senior, silver-haired, tall, and very beautiful~” Rebecca was very enthusiastic about telling the Captain’s past.
Rosvitha glanced sideways.
Rebecca quickly changed her tone, “Ahem, but not as beautiful as you, sister-in-law. Ten of her wouldn’t match up to you, hehe.”
The little girl might seem crazy, but she’s quite clever.
Rosvitha covered her mouth and laughed lightly, “Mm, and then?”
Rebecca opened her mouth, about to continue, but suddenly realized something and asked instead, “Oh right, sister-in-law, you… don’t get jealous often, do you?”
Rosvitha raised an eyebrow – looks like this dirt was quite juicy if Rebecca was being so cautious about asking if she gets jealous.
Amusing.
I’m the Queen, not the Queen of Jealousy, how could I get jealous over little things~
So Rosvitha replied with a smile,
“No, I never get jealous.”
Rebecca looked suspicious, “Really?”
“Yes, really. I am the Silver Dragon Queen, I have a broad mind.”
Hearing this, Rebecca looked at her sister-in-law’s ample chest, then looked down at her own flat chest.
Mm, indeed broad-minded.
“If you don’t get jealous, then I’ll tell you~”
“Go ahead.”
High EQ: Not jealous.
Low EQ: Dealt with the dog of a man before getting jealous.
“Once our academy held a social dance, where everyone could freely choose their dance partners.”
“I’m quite short, so no one wanted to dance with me; Martin doesn’t like socializing, so he didn’t dance either. So we sat on the side drinking, while secretly watching the Captain.”
“Oh, he wasn’t our Captain then, but Leon Casmode’s name was still quite famous in the academy.”
“Many girls asked him to dance at the party, but as expected, he refused them all.”
“But!”
Rebecca got more excited as she continued,
“When that silver-haired senior went to ask him for a dance, he actually agreed!”
“Although they only danced one song that night, it was quite the talk of the academy for quite a while!”
Throughout Rebecca’s vivid storytelling, Rosvitha maintained her elegant stride and demeanor.
But if Rebecca had observed carefully, she would have noticed that Rosvitha’s tail had changed from casually dragging on the ground to slightly raised.
Dragons only raise their tails when their emotions fluctuate.
Unfortunately, the crazy girl wasn’t a dragon expert and didn’t understand dragon body language.
She just wanted to share the Captain’s youthful embarrassing stories with her beautiful sister-in-law, what’s wrong with that!
“And then?” Rosvitha asked softly.
“Then? Then that silver-haired senior thought she was the chosen one among countless fangirls, the only one who had managed to crack open Leon Casmode’s heart, with him agreeing to dance with her at the party being the best proof.”
Rebecca put her hands in her pockets and continued leisurely, “Then she confessed; and as expected, she was rejected.”
“He danced with her but still rejected her?” Rosvitha asked.
“Actually, sister-in-law, the reason for rejection was precisely the dance.”
“Oh? What do you mean?”
“When the Captain later told us about that almost non-existent romance, he explained his main reason for rejecting the silver-haired senior.”
“Simply put, while her appearance matched the Captain’s aesthetics, her personality was completely different from what he had imagined.”
“While dancing, the Captain could clearly feel that the senior was following his lead and rhythm. Even when he made a mistake, she would just go along with it.”
“He didn’t like that feeling.”
“He felt that in a normal relationship, both people should be equals, but all the girls, including the senior, treated him like some unreachable ‘star,’ which made the Captain very uncomfortable.”
At this point, Rebecca paused, then smiled helplessly,
“But sister-in-law, you’ve lived with him for so long, you should understand him.”
“That guy, though he occasionally likes to show off, is excellent in many ways, has a good personality, and is responsible. So, when pursuing someone so outstanding, how can you not subconsciously lower your own status, right?”
“Finally, I think~~”
Rebecca stretched lazily, deliberately drawing out her tone.
Rosvitha turned to look at her, interested in waiting for her conclusion and evaluation.
“In this world, there’s only one woman who can conquer Leon Casmode.”
“Who?”
“You.”
Rebecca smiled with squinted eyes, “Although I don’t know you very well yet, I can still vaguely sense the strength in your personality. In daily life with the Captain, you surely don’t just give in to him randomly, right?”
Rosvitha laughed lightly, “Not at all, I wouldn’t argue back and forth with a twenty-something brat, that’s too childish.”
Is that so, Your Majesty?
Your various ‘contests’ with your fake husband could fill an entire sheet of paper.
“Though sometimes I do need to discipline him a bit,” Rosvitha added.
“Exactly~ The Captain isn’t someone who listens to just anyone.”
Rosvitha smiled faintly and asked, “Oh right, do you remember the song they danced to back then?”
“Eh… that was a long time ago.”
Rebecca thought for a moment, then clapped her hands, “I remember! Though I can’t recall the name, I can hum it for you.”
“Mm, good.”
Rebecca immediately started humming the tune.
Rosvitha listened carefully, and after a short while said, “Good, I know which song it is.”
“Oh? Sister-in-law, you’ve been living with the dragon clan, yet you know human songs?”
“Yes, I recently started learning about and trying to understand human culture.”
This was true.
Leon had seen those human books she’d acquired when he was studying with Little Light in her library.
“Oh, I see.”
Rosvitha reached out and patted Rebecca’s head, “Thank you for telling me these things. Is there anything else? For example… what he’s afraid of, or what he’s not good at?”
Rebecca thought for a moment, “There actually is! Sister-in-law, do you know he had a nickname in school? He was called ‘The Strongest Man on Land.'”
The Queen blinked, “He’s strong… that I know.”
And she knew it very thoroughly indeed.
“No, no, no, sister-in-law, the emphasis of this nickname isn’t on ‘strong,’ but on ‘on land.'”
Rosvitha frowned, “On land? What do you mean?”
“It means — Captain is like a duck out of water! He passed all the academy’s tests and assessments with full marks, except he can’t swim!”
“Such an impressive person… actually can’t swim?”
Rosvitha recalled for a moment.
The last time their whole family went on vacation to the beach, over all those days, she indeed hadn’t seen Leon swim.
“Yes, yes, it’s true. That’s why everyone called him ‘The Strongest on Land.'”
Rosvitha nodded thoughtfully, murmuring, “I see…”
Looks like I’ll need to buy some new swimsuits, my little lion~
