Chapter Index

Noia leaned against the temple entrance as a massive silver figure slowly descended into the courtyard.
Little Curl King crossed her arms and called back, “They’re back!”
The next second, a small figure rushed out.
“Dad, Mom, you’re back!”
Muen ran out to greet them.
Just as Rosvitha was about to crouch down to welcome her precious daughter, the dog of a man beside her beat her to it.
The Queen glanced sideways at her husband, silently noting this ‘first crouch’ grievance in her heart.
What’s the matter?
Not letting the Queen be jealous, and now not letting her hold grudges?
Really now.
While Rosvitha was muttering to herself, a tuft of pink hair entered her vision.
“Mama, hug~”
Well, looks like someone still thinks of me after all. So what if he crouched down first to hug our daughter? This time she asked for my hug herself!
That’s much better than yours!
General Leon could never guess that his wife, who appeared so noble and elegant in public, could write an entire narrative about her thoughts when interacting with him.
The couple climbed the steps, each carrying one daughter.
Seeing her parents approach, Noia straightened her posture, “Welcome back, Father, Mother.”
“Mm, did you take good care of your sisters while at home?”
Noia nodded with a smile, “Yes, Father.”
Leon held Muen with one arm while patting Noia’s head with his free hand, “Noia is the best.”
The little perfectionist’s cheeks reddened as she looked away.
Leon understood his eldest daughter well. Rather than questions like “Did you behave at home?” or “How are your magic lessons going?”, Noia preferred when Leon asked if she had been a good big sister and taken care of her siblings.
Because it made Noia feel like she was grown up too.
Of course, in some ways, she was indeed comparable to an adult, sometimes even more exceptional.
The family of five entered the temple, chatting and laughing together.
Dinner was prepared by the maids.
When Milan was serving dishes, Rosvitha noticed her smiling contentedly, though she didn’t know what made her so happy.
Rosvitha didn’t ask at first.
But when Milan came with the second dish, she was still beaming.
Even though Rosvitha typically minded her own business, this sweet smile piqued her curiosity.
“Milan.”
“Yes, Your Majesty, what is it?” Milan stood beside Rosvitha’s seat, bowing slightly.
“Did something good happen to you?” Rosvitha asked with a smile.
She tried to appear as casual as possible, keeping her tone gentle.
Hearing this, a blush spread across Milan’s face as she adjusted her hair, saying softly, “It’s- it’s nothing, Your Majesty.”
Just then, Shelly appeared from behind, draping an arm over her best friend’s shoulder and saying with a grin, “Haven’t you heard, Your Majesty? Milan has fallen in lo—mmph!”
Milan quickly covered Shelly’s mouth, “What’s a guard scout like you doing in the maid corps? Get back to your post!”
Rosvitha’s eyes twinkled, “Oh~ So you’ve found romance.”
General Leon, who had been eating nearby, paused abruptly upon hearing this, inwardly thinking:
You dragons live for hundreds of years, that’s quite late for first love.
“It’s not like that, Your Majesty! We’ve just… just talked a bit… The dishes are all served now, please enjoy your meal.”
With that, Milan pulled Shelly away from the dining room, muttering, “Such a blabbermouth!”
Shelly just kept giggling.
As their footsteps faded away, Rosvitha turned back to look at the food on her plate.
Milan had been with the maid corps for so long, yet there had never been any gossip about her.
But now she was suddenly in love…
Could it be because Rosvitha had recently been promoting her and Leon’s “epic romance” that it had resonated with the young maid?
Making her unable to resist the yearning for beautiful love?
Hmm~~~
Good good good, how magnificent our Silver Dragon clan is, may all dragons find love!
“Hey, what are you grinning about? You’re not the one in love.” Leon snapped his fingers in front of Rosvitha’s nose.
Rosvitha came back to her senses and put on a stern face, “I may not be in love, but I’m married, how about that?”
That retort left Leon speechless.
“Ooh ooh~ Mama’s blushing~” Little Light teased from the side.
After the playful banter, dinner continued.
The three little ones finished quickly and went to play in the backyard.
The couple enjoyed their dinner at a leisurely pace.
“By the way, when you were in the cave, you told your master that you wanted to practice Primal Magic and asked him to help look into it.”
Rosvitha asked, “Why didn’t you just say it was for me?”
Leon put down his knife and fork, wiped his mouth with a napkin, then replied,
“If I had said you wanted to practice Primal Magic, my master might have overthought it. But if I said it was for myself, the old man would be much more eager to help.”
“I see.”
Leon’s eyes flickered, “What, don’t tell me you hadn’t thought of that?”
Rosvitha gave him a side-eye, “Of course I thought of it, I just wanted to hear your answer.”
“Well, are you satisfied with my answer?”
“It’s decent enough, quite satisfactory.”
Target has successfully activated their innate skill ‘Stubborn Pride’ and neutralized your provocation.
Leon smiled and lowered his head to fiddle with his fork.
The fork tapped against the plate, making crisp, rhythmic sounds.
Not disruptive, just a small gesture to pass time.
Meanwhile, Rosvitha continued enjoying her dinner unhurriedly.
“If you’re full, why don’t you go out and play with the girls?” Rosvitha asked casually.
Leon draped an arm over his chair back, saying lazily, “Too lazy to move.”
“Too lazy? Hmph, you just want to fulfill your husbandly duty of accompanying your wife through dinner, right?”
“Oh ho ho ho—”
Leon’s mouth nearly twisted up to the sky, “Don’t be so full of yourself, dragon mother, I’m just observing silver dragon eating habits.”
“And then?”
“Then I’ll write a book called ‘My Years of Captivity by a Silver Dragon.'”
“Sounds like something you’d find in a bootleg book stall.”
“Haha, you’re so funny, Your Majesty. Just finish your meal.”
Rosvitha suppressed her wildly upturning lips and continued eating.
Shortly after, Head Maid Anna came to see them.
“Pardon the interruption, Your Majesty, Your Highness.”
The timing was good, as Rosvitha had just finished her meal.
Leon handed her two napkins, which she used to wipe her mouth before turning to Anna, “What is it?”
“Well, Your Majesty, you recently encouraged everyone to pursue free love and revitalize our clan, and the response has been quite positive.”
Anna said, “However… as you know, traditional dragons aren’t very skilled at interacting with the opposite sex, let alone dating or expressing feelings.”
Rosvitha nodded thoughtfully, “Indeed, I hadn’t considered that.”
“Yes, these past few days many have come to me, saying that since I’ve been by Your Majesty’s side the longest, I must have learned many dating secrets from you and His Highness, and they want me to teach them.”
Anna shook her head with a bitter smile, “But how would I know anything about dating… So, Your Majesty, Your Highness, would you perhaps… consider personally sharing your valuable experience about love with everyone?”
The couple exchanged a knowing look.
Then they started their internal dialogue:
Leon: What nonsense about sharing experience?! What can I teach them? How to get captured by an enemy and then get them pregnant?!
Rosvitha: Marriage before love doesn’t work for everyone, so we need to take it step by step.
Leon (??): You’re actually seriously considering what I said, Your Majesty?
Rosvitha: I think Anna’s suggestion is good. Since we started this, we can’t just abandon them at the doorstep – we need to teach them thoroughly about how to fall in love.
Leon: You talk like you’re some expert at love…
Rosvitha: That’s why I have you, don’t I?
Leon: Me? I never said I’d help—
“Then it’s decided. Anna, tomorrow His Highness and I will share our experience in this matter.”
Leon: ?
Fine fine fine, have it your way, dragon mother!
