Chapter 8: Love Tutoring Class (3)
by reimuRosvitha enjoyed watching Leon’s expression as his past was exposed.
Mmhmm, just like that – surprise, shock, confusion, bewilderment, and even a bit of that teenage boy’s blush.
Honey, you’re just too adorable—
Of course, “honey” was fake, and “adorable” was meant as an insult.
The queen crossed her legs, resting her chin on her hand, her beautiful silver eyes watching Leon, with a faint smile on her lips.
She wasn’t in a hurry to say anything more, instead seeming to wait for Leon’s defense.
After waiting a while, she found Leon just sitting there awkwardly, and although he seemed uncomfortable, he stubbornly didn’t say a word of explanation.
Rosvitha raised her beautiful eyebrows, “Don’t you want to say something about this silver-haired senior?”
Actually, Rosvitha had heard about the silver-haired girl from Leon’s master long ago.
And during their 2:30 AM truth-telling sessions, she’d heard mentions of it too.
As far as she could remember, Rosvitha had never formally discussed this with Leon, only teasing him once or twice under the pretense of ‘I heard you sleep-talking.’
So now she wanted to take advantage of the hot news she’d just gotten from Rebecca to have a proper chat about this mysterious ‘silver-haired classmate.’
Ah.
Well, not really a chat – she just purely wanted to tease him and see his embarrassed, flustered expression.
If he could make her happy after being embarrassed, she’d let bygones be bygones and spare his life;
But if he couldn’t make it up to her, hmph, he couldn’t blame her for dumping the jar of vinegar on his dog head!
“Say… say what…”
Leon swallowed, “What do you want to hear?”
“Whatever you want to tell me,”
Rosvitha said unhurriedly, smiling, “I remember a long time ago, you even mentioned her in your sleep.”
“I never talk in my sleep, you’re definitely trying to trick me.”
“Oh really? Well, I don’t care, there must have been such a memorable silver-haired female classmate in your boring straight male life, right?”
“…”
Not knowing where this dragon got her information from, Leon pressed his lips together and admitted reluctantly, “Yes.”
“Then tell me, how far did things go with her? Did you kiss?” The queen leaned back, crossed her arms under her chest, taking on the pose of interrogating a criminal suspect.
Actually, she knew very well that nothing had happened between Leon and that girl, as pure as blank paper.
But she just wanted to make Leon say it to her himself.
Leon rubbed his palms, looking down at the floor, “No…”
“Never kissed? But you must have held hands, right?”
“Emmm I touched her wrist while dancing, but that doesn’t really count as holding hands.”
“Dancing? You even danced with her?”
“No no no, it was the academy’s social dance party, everyone had to participate, and we only danced for one song.”
Mother’s milk.
General Leon had never sweated this much when fighting Constantine as he did now trying to appease Rosvitha.
After all, there was no Dragon King that couldn’t be solved with one thunderbolt – if there was, then use two;
But there was no jealous Queen that could be appeased with just a word or two – if there was, it definitely wouldn’t be Rosvitha Melkvi!
“Have you ever danced with me?” Rosvitha asked.
“You never mentioned wanting to dance…”
“So if I don’t bring it up, you won’t take the initiative to ask me?”
Leon: ……
Folks, what exactly has marriage brought to men?
It’s truly chilling.
Leon silently sighed, and asked quietly, “Rosvitha, are you… jealous? Or angry?”
Rosvitha’s eyes flickered slightly, then she slowly stood up, walked over to Leon, bent down, reached out her hand, and gently traced Leon’s nose bridge with her finger,
“I’m not jealous, and I’m not angry. I don’t care at all about that whatever female classmate. Alright, turn off the lights, and come to bed.”
She straightened up and walked out of the study.
Then came the sound of shoes dropping on the floor, as she crawled into bed and let out a relaxed sigh.
Leon sat quietly in place, debating whether he should just sleep on the couch tonight…
Master had said before, a woman’s words should be interpreted in reverse.
When she says she doesn’t want something, that means she wants it;
When she says “it’s fine,” it means it’s not fine;
When she says she’s not angry and not jealous, it definitely means she’s “adding vinegar to the fire.”
Leon asked, “Is that how Master’s wife is?”
Master replied, “Obviously. How else do you think I figured this out?”
Leon asked again, “So should we interpret everything women say in the opposite way?”
Master thought for a moment and responded, “Not necessarily. When she tells you to come to bed, you don’t need to interpret that oppositely, because she genuinely wants you to come to bed.”
Master didn’t elaborate further at the time, since these matters were easily understood between long-married couples, and Leon was still too young then, so Master just laughed it off.
Coming back to the present, Leon let out a slow sigh, then stood up, turned off the study lights, and went to the bedroom.
He lifted the covers and lay down.
The bed was already filled with the warmth and fragrance of the beauty beside him.
Leon turned his head to look; Rosvitha was facing away from him, her nightgown strap had slipped from her shoulder and was casually draped across her fair arm.
Leon opened his mouth, wanting to explain more about the female classmate situation.
But after thinking about it, he gave up.
He’ll explain it properly tomorrow… Leon thought.
However, just as he was about to close his eyes to sleep, he heard a soft voice from beside him,
“Going to sleep just like this?”
“…What else, Your Majesty?”
“Idiot.”
Rosvitha’s tone carried a hint of complaint, “If you want to sleep, then sleep. Good night.”
Leon’s thoughts stirred.
Something wasn’t right.
She invited him to bed, then actively asked ‘Going to sleep just like this?’ Didn’t all these behaviors indicate one thing:
She was waiting for Leon to give her a clear response?
General Leon’s brain, rarely engaged in the matter of coaxing his wife, started working.
He turned to his side, looking at Rosvitha’s delicate back, her silver hair brilliant like the Milky Way under the moonlight.
After a long while, Leon spoke, “There’s absolutely nothing between me and that female classmate. The most intimate thing that happened was just one dance. After the ball ended, I barely spoke to her again.”
“Mm.”
The response was rather flat.
This meant Leon hadn’t hit the mark yet.
General Leon’s brain continued to work at high speed.
After a moment, he spoke again,
“I can’t even remember her name now, so it was even more impossible for me to have any feelings for her back then, wasn’t it?”
“Oh.”
Still not hitting the mark?
Leon scratched the corner of his mouth.
This time, he thought carefully for a very long time before speaking,
“You’re the first woman I’ve ever hugged, held hands with, and kissed.”
“Hmm, is that so?”
There’s a reaction!
This was it!
Her tone even contained a hint of suppressed pride.
“Yes.”
Leon said, “Actually, I was quite dense in school, and also quite stubborn. I only wanted to find a perfect girl as my lover, but such ‘perfection’ almost doesn’t exist in this world.”
“That silver-haired classmate only somewhat matched my idea of perfection in terms of appearance, which is why I tried to get to know her.”
“But after getting to know her, I found she was very different from what I had imagined.”
“It’s not that she or other girls weren’t good, it’s just that they all put themselves in too low a position when interacting with me. I didn’t like that.”
“What I wanted was someone who could give and take equally in a relationship, not just one-sided compromise and tolerance.”
“For a long time, I thought I wouldn’t meet someone like that.”
“Until… I formed this fake family with you.”
“Though saying something like ‘you’re the one I’ve been looking for’ is a bit… cheesy.”
“But…”
Leon pursed his lips, searching for various words and phrases in his mind.
But none seemed appropriate.
After hesitating briefly, he gave a self-deprecating smile, then immediately said seriously,
“But you are the one I’ve been looking for, Rosvitha.”
After finishing, Leon felt somewhat uncertain.
Because throughout his entire speech, Rosvitha hadn’t shown any reaction.
He bit his lip, unable to control wondering if he had said something wrong again.
In the past, he would never have cared so much about Rosvitha’s emotions.
But after spending so much time together, plus seeing the visions of the future, it was hard for him not to care about his bedmate.
His heart wasn’t made of iron; he would feel emotions for Rosvitha – sadness or joy, or various other sentiments.
Leon didn’t know if this counted as so-called ‘love’, but anyway… he didn’t dislike it.
As for Rosvitha…
She was actually almost swooning from this dog-man’s sweet words.
Was she supposed to hear this?
Hey hey hey, I’m a dragon, you know? Your sworn enemy? And you… you just… just say these sickeningly sweet things to me?
Hmm Well said! This was exactly her purpose in bringing up this matter tonight. The key point was never about his relationship with the female classmate, because Rosvitha trusted his character. The key point was actually… Rosvitha’s place in his heart. She wanted to hear Leon say personally that she was his first; She wanted Leon to admit how important she was to him; Those sweet, ambiguous words – she could never hear enough of them. “Done talking?” Rosvitha held back her smile. “Ah… yes.” “Mm. Come hug me then.” “Ah… what?” “Don’t understand? I said, come hug me.” “Oh…” Leon hesitated, moved closer to Rosvitha’s back, and gently embraced her shoulders from behind. “Just hugging the shoulders?” Rosvitha asked. “Where… else?” “Hmph, idiot.” As she spoke, Rosvitha took Leon’s hand and placed it on her waist. “When hugging from behind, hug like this. Remember to always do it this way in the future, understand?” Leon blinked, oh~ he understood – she was happy now.
Well, since she’s happy, this general doesn’t need to be so polite anymore.
His hand “uninvited” moved from Rosvitha’s waist to her soft belly.
Rosvitha quickly grabbed his wrist, “What are you doing?”
“Want to… hug you tighter,” Leon nuzzled her neck, his hot breath entirely enveloping her.
Of course, Rosvitha’s resistance was merely symbolic.
“Don’t touch me, it tickles, you dog of a man… hey don’t go down— mm~~”
Leon gently kissed the back of her neck and whispered in her ear,
“I won’t keep you up late, my jealous silver dragon, after all, you have to teach them tomorrow.”
