Chapter 11: You Disturbed the Sister Complex
by reimuThe new semester at Saint Hiss Academy was beginning.
Leon fulfilled his promise to Little Light and brought her along to see Noia off to school.
Without the ‘school bus’ Leviathan providing dedicated transport, parents all came personally to send their children back to school, making it quite a lively day.
But the liveliest had to be the Melkvi family.
Most dragon families had two or three family members.
After all, traditional dragons followed a “quality over quantity” reproduction policy. Even viviparous families mostly had only children.
But the Melkvi family came with a full five members.
That was equivalent to two and a half cocoon-born dragon families.
You could see the Silver Dragon Queen and her husband who refused to show his tail, holding their eldest daughter’s hand, while each carrying another daughter in their arms.
If they had another child, Rosvitha might need to use her tail to wrap the child too.
Seeing this scene, other parents couldn’t help but stop to watch.
Their feelings were complicated.
Not jealousy or disdain, just pure surprise.
“I heard the Silver Dragon Queen is only a little over 200 years old, and already has three children… can she manage?”
“You think her husband is just for show? I heard he’s great at both childcare and fighting, totally capable~”
“Really?”
“Of course. The Silver Dragon Queen is known for being exceptional among the younger generation of Dragon Kings. Her husband can’t be too far behind.”
“Hmm… I should discuss with our clan’s majesty about possibly establishing diplomatic relations with the Silver Dragon clan.”
“…”
Leon heard the discussions around them, then leaned close to Rosvitha’s ear and said quietly,
“Seems like we’re even more famous than last semester.”
Last semester, not only did the couple sprinkle some PDA during their speech at the new student orientation ceremony, they also conquered all opponents and spectators with their exaggerated chemistry and abilities at the family sports day.
Parents spread tales of the “Silver Dragon Special Forces”;
Students viewed Noia K. Melkvi as the only true god of the academic year.
Leon thought that was about as far as it would go.
Unexpectedly, after one holiday break, their fame had risen even further.
Hmm, these were some very well-behaved first-class merits, General Leon thought secretly.
“Mm, I expected it,” Rosvitha said.
“You did?”
“Yes.”
Rosvitha said, “The commotion Blai and the others caused recently has already spread throughout the dragon clans. Your great feat of slaying six dragons in ten seconds is naturally common knowledge now.”
“So that’s why…”
“Mm. But it’s best not to discuss internal dragon clan conflicts at Saint Hiss Academy. This is an absolutely neutral organization,” Rosvitha reminded.
Leon nodded, “Understood.”
The couple took their children to the teaching building, heading straight for Noia’s class in the young dragon section.
From this semester, Noia had been promoted to the senior class of the young dragon section. According to the homeroom teacher, Noia was likely the youngest but best-performing young dragon in several decades.
At the classroom entrance, the homeroom teacher was greeting each parent.
Seeing Leon and his family, the teacher warmly welcomed them.
“It’s been a while, Melkvi family.”
The teacher smiled and then turned her gaze to Noia. She crouched down and pinched Noia’s cheek, “Noia has grown quite a bit.”
Between ages three and ten was when young dragons developed fastest.
Not just Noia, even Muen had grown much taller.
Not long ago, Leon had predicted that by year’s end, his eldest and second daughter would grow from small lolis to medium-sized lolis.
Ah, time flies and never returns, the old father sighed.
After briefly chatting with the homeroom teacher, it was time for Noia to return to class and prepare for the first day of the new semester.
Before leaving, Leon crouched down and put his hands on his daughter’s shoulders, instructing,
“Study hard, and don’t slack off just because you’ve previewed what the teacher is teaching at home. Keep reinforcing your fundamentals – that way you’ll grasp more advanced magic more easily in the future, understand?”
Noia obediently nodded, “I understand, Papa.”
“Eat breakfast on time – you’re in your growing phase now, can’t skip any meals.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Go to bed before 10 PM, or you’ll get dark circles under your eyes.”
“Okay.”
“And don’t fight with your classmates,” Rosvitha added from the side.
“Yes, Mama.”
Leon had a thought and leaned close to his daughter’s ear, lowering his voice…
“But if someone bullies you first, fight back. As long as you don’t kill them, beat them as hard as you can. If they dare to complain to their parents, Dad will back you up.”
Noia held back her laughter and nodded, “Yes, Papa.”
Rosvitha listened to the father-daughter pair’s “loud conspiracy” from the side, sighing helplessly and shaking her head.
After the parents finished their instructions, it was time for the two younger sisters.
Muen moved close to Noia, gently pinching her sleeve with her head lowered, her ahoge drooping as she said softly, “Sister, Muen will miss you…”
Noia smiled and reached up to ruffle her sister’s hair, “I’ll be home on weekends, it’s not like I’ll be gone for long. Muen needs to be good, okay?”
“Will sister miss me too?”
Your sister-complex sibling ignored your reassurance and stared at you with big watery eyes.
Noia’s heart melted at the cuteness. She cupped Muen’s chubby cheeks and said,
“Of course I will. Sister will miss you, even in my dreams.”
“Yay~”
Only after receiving Noia’s promise did Muen’s dejected mood slightly improve.
Then it was Little Light’s turn.
The pink-haired little one also clung to Noia for a while, constantly calling her “sister” this and “sister” that.
Finally, Noia cautioned, “Don’t keep using uppercuts on Dad at home, his body gets periodically weak.”
“Mm, I know, Big Sis.”
After saying their goodbyes, Noia waved and turned to run toward her classroom.
Muen still gazed longingly at Noia’s retreating figure. With sister gone, it would be five days before they could see each other again.
In a child’s world, time passes very~ very~ slowly.
Especially after holidays end, suddenly not being able to see Noia made the little moon have trouble adjusting.
For someone with a sister complex, these five days were truly unbearable torture.
“Second Sister, let’s go.”
Little Light took Muen’s hand and said gently.
Muen came back to her senses and looked at the pink-haired girl beside her.
After a moment, a smile appeared on her face that had been showing traces of grievance and dejection.
Fortunately, she still had a little sister.
This happiness wasn’t something only children could experience, not even children from two-child families could experience it.
Because in the Melkvi family, the one thing they didn’t lack was children!
“Mm! Let’s go!”
The two little dragon girls held hands and followed Leon and Rosvitha toward the exit.
But after just a few steps, Muen turned her head to look back again.
By now Noia had reached her classroom door, where a girl slightly taller than her enthusiastically greeted her and linked arms with her.
Then, the two girls walked into the classroom chatting and laughing.
And this scene was caught entirely in Muen’s eyes.
