Chapter Index

“I hope our family’s dinner suits your taste, Helena.”

Leon’s family of five and today’s little guest sat around the dinner table.

The dinner was very lavish, with several additional dishes added to the original welcome-home meal for Noia to express their hospitality toward Helena.

Helena was also very polite, never dropping her formal speech, and her manners were impeccable, giving people an impression of sincerity and grace.

It was impressive to see such social skills at such a young age.

Earlier in the courtyard, Rosvitha had sensed that Helena might not be from an ordinary noble family.

However, she didn’t actively inquire about which tribe Helena came from, or what social class her parents belonged to.

After all, this was the first time her daughter had brought a classmate home for the weekend. The focus should be on providing a warm welcome, without discussing other matters.

“Actually, I’ve always envied Noia. Not only does she have excellent parents, but she also has two adorable sisters.”

Helena said, “Since I’m from a cocoon-born family, birthed solely by my mother, I don’t have any siblings. Growing up alone can be quite lonely sometimes.”

Most traditional dragon families were cocoon-born, with either just a father or just a mother.

There might be siblings, but many were only distantly related enough to be considered relatives.

Sister pairs like Rosvitha and Isabella were quite rare.

For Helena to become friends with Noia meant these two little ones must have something in common, such as their way of viewing ‘family’ or ‘relatives.’

Leon and Rosvitha knew very well how much Noia valued her family members;

And if Helena shared Noia’s strong emphasis on family, then as a cocoon-born young dragon, she would naturally envy Noia’s full family of five.

After all, who wouldn’t want an inseparable companion during their childhood?

“It’s okay, Helena. If you like a livelier atmosphere, you can come play at my house anytime,” Noia said.

“Really, Noia?”

“Mm-hmm, really.”

“That’s wonderful~ Thank you, Noia-chan~”

Helena turned sideways and wrapped her arms around Noia’s shoulders, gently nuzzling her cheek.

Since Helena was several years older than Noia, she was also much taller, so this embrace looked more like an older sister hugging her younger sister.

Judging by Noia’s reaction, she didn’t seem to mind Helena’s intimacy.

It was worth noting that this stubborn little Noia usually didn’t like physical contact with others.

During her early days of knowing Leon, she had even said things like he couldn’t touch her without her permission.

Leon and Rosvitha exchanged glances, probably guessing why their daughter would accept Helena’s embrace.

Firstly, since Helena was a friend whom Noia felt comfortable bringing home as a guest, it meant their relationship must have already reached a certain level of closeness, so a hug would naturally be nothing unusual;

Secondly, it had to do with Noia herself.

She was much more mature than normal young dragons, and had been taking care of Muen since she first became aware of things.

After Little Light was born, she also took on most of the care for her.

Plus, with the recent crisis of the spatial rift, those difficult six months had also made Noia grow up considerably.

However, untimely growth often brings mental exhaustion and weariness.

Noia rarely opened up to others about her feelings, and even Leon and Rosvitha didn’t fully understand their daughter’s inner world.

This was a very subtle phenomenon in families – even when facing the closest people, sometimes one wouldn’t speak of their worries and troubles.

But Helena was different.

She was Noia’s friend, a role that could maintain intimacy while being outside the family.

At the same time, she was several years older than Noia, fully capable of acting as Noia’s big sister.

Even if this meaning had never been explicitly discussed between them, the objective fact remained, and Noia would subconsciously seek to gain some emotional value as a ‘younger sister’ from Helena.

Nestling in Helena’s embrace would allow her tightly wound nerves to temporarily relax a bit.

This was the importance of having friends.

The couple vaguely guessed this point, and simultaneously showed relieved smiles.

After exchanging glances, they decided to properly discuss their eldest daughter’s new friend after dinner.

Right now, eating was most important!

“Big Sister.”

A soft, sweet, and slightly helpless “Big Sister” came from one side of the dining table.

The couple and Little Light looked toward the sound.

They saw Muen sitting there, holding her knife and fork, looking pitifully at Noia, “Big Sister, I can’t cut my steak anymore. Can you help me?”

Little Light stared at this scene, blinking her beautiful pink eyes, inwardly snarking: Second Sister, you could split steel plates with your bare hands a year ago, how come you can’t cut steak now? Growing backwards, aren’t we!

Noia was also somewhat surprised, remembering that Muen hadn’t needed her help cutting steak or correcting her posture at the dining table for a long time. Why was she suddenly asking for help now?

However, Noia didn’t think too much about it. Since it was Muen’s request, she would try her best to fulfill it completely.

Noia leaned close to Muen’s side, held her little hand, and helped her cut the steak bit by bit.

“Thank you, Big Sister~ Big Sister is so nice~ muuuua~”

Taking advantage of Noia leaning in to cut her steak, Muen planted a kiss on Noia’s cheek.

Big Sister’s little face turned red.

Sheesh~~~

What’s up with this little one acting strange today?

Haven’t had a cheek kiss in ages, suddenly coming out with one like this, making big sister all flushed and embarrassed.

As the saying goes, when middle-aged couples kiss, it brings nightmares for several nights; So with these sisters kissing… they won’t have nightmares too, right?

Noia pinched Muen’s nose tip, “Eat properly.”

Muen sweetly replied, “Yes, Big Sister~”

Little Light on the side got goosebumps listening to all this.

In her short life of just over a year, her impression of Second Sister had always been innocent and pure, adorably free-spirited, undisputedly the Silver Dragon Temple’s number one mascot.

But what was this person doing now?

Not being able to cut steak was one thing, but that affected tone – even Little Light had given that up long ago, why are you picking it up again?

No matter who you are, get off my Second Sister right now!

“You sisters have such a good relationship.”

“Ah, Muen has always—”

“Of course~ My big sister and I are super close!”

The girls’ voices interrupted Little Light’s wild thoughts.

She raised an eyebrow, looking at Big Sister’s classmate.

After thinking for a moment, Little Light looked back at Second Sister, who was enjoying Noia’s attentive care.

Oh~~

The pink-haired one understood.

So Second Sister hadn’t regressed, nor had she been possessed.

She was purely showing off!

And now, let Silver Dragon Tribe’s Third Princess and God of Entertainment Aurora K. Melkvi present to you the inner world of a certain sister-complex:

“Big Sister, you’re feeding me food, I wonder if Helena will get jealous, Big Sister?”

“But the food Big Sister feeds me is so delicious~”

“My Big Sister loves me the most~ Helena, you’re just friends with Big Sister, you know~”

“You can only hug at most, but I can kiss Big Sister~”

“Big Sister’s little cheeks are so fragrant and smooth and tender, I can never get enough kisses~”

“What I love most is—”

“What are you grinning about by yourself?”

Leon’s palm gently patted the pink-haired little one’s head.

Little Light looked up at her father’s big hand, “Nothing, Dad and Mom’s cooking is just so delicious, I couldn’t help but smile.”

“Even eating can make you this happy?”

“Yes, Papa.” Little Light said with a straight face.

Leon smiled and ruffled her hair, “Hurry up and eat.”

“Yes sir~”

See, she knew this weekend would definitely be entertaining.

Little Light was already looking forward to what new, more intense, more entertaining tricks her Second Sister would pull!
