Chapter Index

The assault of lightning and fire came simultaneously, leaving no escape route.
However, Sta showed no intention of dodging. He meant to withstand the first wave of attacks from Leon and Rosevitha head-on.
The intense dragon flames struck Sta’s golden armor first, triggering a chain of explosions. The impact forced Sta’s feet into the hard ground, creating concentric cracks that spread outward from where he stood.
Seeing Rosevitha’s attack take effect, Leon followed through.
Raising his lightning sword high overhead, Leon brought it down precisely on the back of Sta’s golden armor, accompanied by dancing electric arcs.
However, there was only a muffled thunder crack as Leon’s lightning sword shattered into two pieces.
Blue light reflected off the black-gold war chariot helmet as Leon’s gaze pierced through countless fragments of lightning, fixed directly on Sta.
The old dragon king unhurriedly turned his head, looking in Leon’s direction through his heavy helmet.
“Is that all you’ve got?”
The ancient, profound voice emerged from beneath the golden armor once again, but this time it carried traces of disdain and mockery.
Leon let out a cold snort. “I won’t let you be disappointed.”
As his words fell, the two broken pieces of the lightning sword and the countless lightning fragments suddenly flashed with dazzling light, transforming into sharp lightning needles that all pierced toward Sta.
The lightning needles struck Sta’s armor like a torrential storm, creating crackling explosive sounds.
Such attacks naturally couldn’t cause effective damage to Sta.
But Leon hadn’t intended to hurt Sta with just this move.
The lightning needles merged into the golden armor. At first, Sta thought this was just the human boy’s follow-up attack, equally ineffective.
However, as the lightning needles continued their bombardment, Sta gradually began to experience paralysis throughout his body.
The numbness felt like countless ants burrowing into his skin, spreading throughout his entire body via nerves and blood vessels.
Seeing the lightning needles taking effect, Leon and Rosevitha immediately pushed away to Sta’s left and right sides.
After creating some distance, husband and wife concentrated their lightning and fire energies, directing everything toward Sta in the middle.
Dragon flames transformed into streams of fireballs, shooting from Rosevitha’s hands;
Lightning condensed into elongated needles, significantly increasing both the paralysis effect and damage on Sta.
The two elements bombarded Sta from his left and right sides continuously.
In an instant, thick dust clouds were kicked up on the battlefield.
But the couple’s bombardment continued.
As Rosevitha had mentioned earlier, they were in perfect sync, coordinated in everything they did.
The dust quickly enveloped Sta.
The pair decided to follow up with one final attack.
They stopped their bombardment simultaneously.
Rosevitha spread her arms, forming blood-red flames in each hand before combining them.
The flames took the shape of a dragon’s head, roaring as it charged toward the dust cloud ahead.
S-Class Fire Magic · Dragon Flame Modified · Dragon Fire Annihilation
But the Queen’s attack was far from over.
As the dragon fire annihilation fireball rushed toward Sta, Rosevitha spread her dragon wings behind her, then flapped them violently.
The air currents from both sides formed air cannons, greatly enhancing the impact force of the dragon fire annihilation.
Leon naturally wouldn’t be outdone, unleashing his ultimate move after stopping his bombardment.
The general tightly gripped his right wrist, concentrating lightning power in his palm.
The next second, a wolf formed of lightning burst from Leon’s palm, racing forward with thunder and lightning, charging straight at Sta within the dust cloud.
A-Class Lightning Magic · Lightning Wolf Breakthrough
With both of them unleashing their ultimate moves, the attacks disappeared into the thick dust, quickly followed by intense magical tremors.
The residual lightning and fire energy dispersed into the sky like a brilliant firework display.
On the ground, as the dust slowly cleared—
The golden figure stood unwavering.
Around Sta, a massive ancient bell encompassed him.
The ancient bell flickered in and out of visibility, with remnants of Leon and Rosevitha’s energy still sparking across its surface.
Rosevitha startled, her silver pupils trembling slightly, “What… is that thing…”
Star Dragon King Sta was one of the most ancient dragon kings alive.
But his abilities had never been recorded in any literature or ancient texts.
Fighting him without any intelligence was bound to result in some initial setbacks.
Anna and the others watching from afar also witnessed this scene.
Sherry stared at the ancient bell, mouth agape and voice trembling, “That was a combined attack from Her Majesty and the Prince Consort… Even Constantine couldn’t withstand that level of attack, right? But it seems to have caused no damage to Sta at all.”
“No wonder Her Majesty needed to team up with the Prince Consort. This enemy… far surpasses Constantine.”
Anna’s voice was low.
Even without being on the frontline of battle, Sta’s overwhelming presence made it difficult for her to breathe.
The ancient dragon king was too mysterious. This was merely the opening of the battle, yet he had already displayed terrifying defensive capabilities beyond their comprehension.
Who knew if Her Majesty and the Prince Consort… could find a way to break through.
Meanwhile, on the general’s platform several kilometers away, a hint of smug satisfaction finally appeared on Ravi’s gloomy face.
“I admit what you said earlier – Leon Casmode does have some skill, managing to make Sta use this move right from the start. But this is where it ends.”
Nacho looked toward Ravi. “That large bell? What’s the story behind it?”
“That’s the strongest defensive magic Sta created over a thousand years – Absolute Defense: Twilight Bell.”
Ravi proudly explained their dragon race’s magical achievements to this shortsighted human.
“Four hundred years ago, in that unknown, deeper world of the dragon race, Sta engaged in a battle with four other dragon kings over that set of golden battle armor he wears.”
“After being the first to obtain the armor, Sta became everyone’s target. The other four dragon kings attacked him simultaneously.”
“But before Sta’s ‘Twilight Bell’, those attacks were like mere scratches, unable to cause him any harm.”
“In the end, the Star Dragon King obtained that set of armor and earned the title of ‘Absolute Defense’.”
Nacho listened silently, pondering briefly before asking, “So… no one has ever broken through his defense?”
“Correct. In this world, there hasn’t been anyone before, there isn’t anyone now, and there won’t be anyone in the future.”
Ravi slowly exhaled, gazing at the distant battlefield.
“That’s why I said it ends here. If they can’t break through the enemy’s defense, continuing to fight is meaningless. Leon Casmode now has two choices—
One, wait until his strength is exhausted, then be slowly killed by Sta;
Two, try to escape while he still has some strength, but he’ll ultimately be executed anyway.
Different choices, same result, it’s just a matter of time.”
Nacho, who deeply understood what kind of monster the Empire had cultivated, took a deep breath and said quietly,
“I think he actually has a third choice.”
Ravi froze, frowning, “What?”
The answer to his question didn’t come from Nacho.
Instead, it came from the sharp bird cry that suddenly echoed across the battlefield.
Sta slowly turned, looking toward the source of the bird cry.
The silver armor stood there, gathering continuously exploding lightning power in his hand.
“Lightning Thrust? — Oh no, for humans, this type of magic should be called ‘Chidori’, but it makes no difference. You plan to break my ultimate defense with such a childish magic?”
Sta wanted to laugh but tried to hold it back.
He had thought the person who defeated Constantine would give him some unexpected surprises.
But it seems he was nothing special after all.
Leon slowly bent down, knees flexed in preparation for a charge.
“The strongest defense often only needs the simplest method to break through. Old Dragon King, watch — carefully.”
As his words fell, the lightning power grew even more turbulent, the bird cry echoing across the entire battlefield.
Ripples of air spread outward in circles, blowing away the dust and stones around Leon.
A Chidori used with only 50% magical power certainly wouldn’t be enough to pierce through that bell from earlier.
So, he needed to add some assistance.
For example—
Nine Hells · Fourth Gate — Open!
Leon’s right foot stomped the ground, launching him like a cannonball.
The Chidori in his hand dragged just ten centimeters above the ground, its violent lightning power kicking up massive clouds of dust along the way, carving out a long trench.
That trench resembled a giant snake continuously charging toward Sta, with speed and ferocity that left observers speechless.
It wasn’t just because his magic power was at 50% that he had to be careful with its use – the distance between Leon and Sta earlier wasn’t particularly far either.
Without enough charging distance, the Chidori couldn’t display its full power.
So if the distance wasn’t enough, he’d make up for it with speed. While speed wouldn’t change inertia, it could provide Leon with sufficient kinetic energy before impact.
And after opening the Fourth Gate of the Nine Hells, the user’s movement speed would increase dramatically.
The new skill unlocked with it was called—
God Speed.
Leon’s speed exceeded Sta’s expectations.
However, it wasn’t a major concern; he still intended to take this attack head-on.
Absolute Defense · Ancient Bell! Descend once more!
The solemn ancient bell enveloped Sta within it as he quietly waited for the ignorant youngster to charge in like a moth to flame.
If he really collided at such high speed, without doubt, Sta’s absolute defense would turn him into a pile of meat paste.
And now it was too late to stop the charge.
Sta’s lips curled upward, “Constantine, how could you lose to such a brainless fool, it’s truly a disgrace to the dragon race—”
The lightning flashed as bird calls echoed through the heavens.
The ancient bell that enveloped Sta continued to vibrate under the impact of the lightning.
Waves of energy rippled outward in circles.
Under that golden armor, Sta’s smile gradually stiffened.
Crack! —
A fissure appeared on the surface of the Dusk Bell!
“Wh-what… how is this- how is this possible?!”
“There’s no defense in this world that can’t be broken. If there is one, it just hasn’t met me yet.”
The Chidori pierced through the so-called absolute defense of the Dusk Bell in one strike, followed immediately by an overwhelming blaze from above that covered the sky.
