Chapter Index

Rosvitha lay on the bed, one long leg raised high.
The warm sunlight filtering through the thin curtains fell on her smooth skin, casting a faint golden glow. She gracefully rotated her ankle, seeming to admire the perfect contours of her leg.
She wasn’t usually this narcissistic.
It’s just that today’s ‘breakfast’ was particularly delightful.
“It’s dirty.”
“It’s rough.”
“It’s all yours.”
Crystalline drops sparkled in the warm sunlight.
This sensation was like intertwining silk threads, forming an enchanting trajectory that cast a unique allure on her leg. Rosvitha gently swayed her leg, enjoying that wonderfully meandering sensation that made one’s heart itch.
With an almost artistic precision, she controlled the direction of each droplet, making the process both elegant and neat. Moreover, Rosvitha made sure not a single drop would fall onto the white bedsheets.
Otherwise, it would be troublesome to clean up.
Leon closed his eyes, unable to look, “Please, just wash it off.”
“What’s the rush? Even I, someone with mysophobia, am not in a hurry to wash, yet you’re the one being impatient.”
Rosvitha said unhurriedly, “Or is it that making my feet and legs dirty makes you feel particularly ashamed, Leon?”
“……”
He thought after six months, the dragon would be somewhat more restrained in her playfulness.
Unexpectedly, not only was there no restraint, there were signs of escalation.
This was probably like parents returning to see their child after working away for a year.
The most classic line upon meeting would be “you’ve grown so tall!”
Actually, if the child was always by the parents’ side, they would hardly notice the changes in height.
In other words, if Leon had stayed constantly by Rosvitha’s side, he wouldn’t have felt her playfulness had become more intense after six months apart.
It seems… there’s another reason to stay by Rosvitha’s side.
As the sticky ‘threads’ on her leg gradually cooled, losing their initial sensation, Rosvitha also lost interest,
“Help me wash it off.”
“Why don’t you just take a bath yourself?”
“Whoever pollutes must clean up – wasn’t this your doing?”
Don’t try to reason with women.
Especially not with a woman who’s lived for over two hundred years.
Leon pouted angrily, got up from the bed, and went to the bathroom to fetch a basin of hot water.
Rosvitha laid a blanket at the edge of the bed and sat on it, preventing any accidental stains on the bedsheet.
Leon placed the basin on the floor, and Rosvitha tried putting her foot in.
The water temperature was just right, neither too hot nor too cold.
Their long period of living together had already enabled him to precisely prepare water at the temperature Rosvitha preferred.
“How thoughtful,” Rosvitha praised with a smile.
“Hmph, I just don’t want to hear your nagging.”
Leon gently pressed Rosvitha’s foot, pouring water over it,
“If the water’s too hot, you’d say I did it on purpose; if it’s too cold, you’d say I don’t care. So I might as well put in the effort to get the temperature just right.”
Rosvitha’s lips curled upward, her gaze moving from Leon’s face to the water basin. She spoke with a slightly proud and smug tone,
“Stop making excuses, you just care about me and are concerned for me.”
“Dragon, I really want to splash this foot water in your face.”
“Oh my, just half an hour ago you said you liked everything about me, and now you want to splash foot water in my face? Hmph, indeed, one should never trust what men say in bed.”
Leon finished washing her feet, then carefully cleaned the traces from her calves and inner thighs, “If you don’t believe what I say in bed, you’d better not believe what I say out of bed either. After all, what captive would pour their heart out to a queen every day?”
His fingers and palms were somewhat rough, bearing marks from years of battlefield experience and rigorous magic practice. When they brushed against Rosvitha’s leg skin, there was a unique sensation.
Rosvitha didn’t dislike this feeling; rather, she quite enjoyed it. Being touched by Leon’s palms always gave her a sense of security.
“Speaking of this, I suddenly remembered something.”
“What?”
“Before you entered the spatial rift back then, didn’t you say something to me?”
The washing movement suddenly paused. Leon pursed his lips and played dumb, saying…
“I didn’t say anything.”
“No, no, no, you definitely said something.”
Rosvitha said with certainty, “First you turned around and called my name, then added a few more words. But the magical energy flow was too loud at the time, so I couldn’t hear clearly. However, looking at your lip movements, you must have said something.”
Leon lowered his head and quickened his movements to hide his current inner panic.
“That- that was you seeing things wrong. It’s easy to have visual hallucinations when you’re nervous.”
Although in the future, Leon had secretly decided in his heart that he would be more proactive with Rosvitha after returning.
But to directly say those three words—it seemed a bit too forward.
And to say it while washing feet…
Tsk, that would lack any sense of ceremony.
Although Rosvitha usually appeared indifferent (except when doing “homework” with Leon), Leon knew that she actually cared quite a bit about ceremony and meaningful gestures.
Like her last birthday – at first she just wanted to tease Leon a bit.
But when she saw all the surprises Leon had carefully prepared for her, the joy and satisfaction in her eyes couldn’t be hidden.
So those three words would certainly need to be said.
But it had to wait for the right moment.
Seeing that Leon had no intention of speaking up, the Queen coldly snorted, “Hmph, fine, don’t say it then, anyway—”
Leon slowed his movements, wondering if the dragon mother was angry now?
Would this enter another round of stubborn spousal bickering? However, what he didn’t expect was—
“Anyway, I’ll make you say it sooner or later.”
Rosvitha said defiantly, “I want you to admit that you care about me, worry about me, that you can’t stand being away from me even for a moment, and that when you don’t see me for a day it feels like dragon marks are crawling on your skin. Just you wait, Casmode.”
Oh.
Your Majesty, you’re being quite direct yet roundabout at the same time.
These are actually things you want to say out loud too, aren’t they?
Leon vaguely guessed her hidden thoughts behind these words.
Just like that night not long ago when they were chatting on the balcony, Rosvitha made him drink, then took advantage of his slight tipsiness to make Leon say he liked her.
But these were clearly words she wanted to say herself, yet she insisted on making the other person say them first.
For no other reason than that strange competitive spirit in her heart.
Understanding this point, Leon chuckled, took a towel from the side, and slowly dried Rosvitha’s legs and feet.
“Then I’ll wait and see whether you’ll make me speak first, or… whether you’ll be the one who can’t hold back and surrenders first— Hey! What are you doing?”
Before her feet were completely dry, Rosvitha pressed them directly against Leon’s chest.
From Leon’s half-crouching position, he could see a slender, fair leg extending all the way to the edge of the bed—quite an enchanting view, Your Majesty.
“You’ll definitely be the one who can’t hold back, Leon.” If this dog of a man wanted to argue with her, how could she not argue back? As a married couple, they enjoyed their little debates.
Leon sighed with a smile, shook his head, moved her foot away from his chest, then stood up holding the foot basin.
He didn’t want to continue this topic with the great dragon mother anymore, because once they started, it would never end.
After standing up, Leon looked down at the foot-washing water in the basin, then asked,
“Your Majesty, I have a slightly perverted request.”
The Queen’s face immediately darkened, “You’re not allowed to drink my foot-washing water.”
Leon grinned, “Shall we clean up and go for a walk outside?”
