Chapter 6: Tit-for-Tat Revenge [Third Revision]
by reimuGulp.
Glug glug.
The tomato juice went down mouthful by mouthful.
Besides the rich sweet and sour tomato flavor that was almost overflowing, there was also the bitter yet sweet black tea taste filling her mouth.
However, perhaps because Charles was somewhat panicked, she couldn’t quite catch her breath.
Not knowing how much time had passed.
“I told you it was tomato juice, didn’t I? Hehe.”
On the other side.
Silence.
Charles seemed to have stopped breathing, then suddenly took a large gulp of air, followed by frantic panting.
She stared at the ceiling, her vision blurry.
Just as she thought, something incredible had indeed happened…
Her brain felt like it was melting like a lava cake.
What a strange feeling—her whole body felt light and airy, not wanting to think about anything or do anything.
What exactly had that Blood Princess done to her?
Feeling the soft delicate body in her arms, Charles weakly pushed her away and sat up again, supporting herself against the sofa armrest.
After a long while, her brain finally started working again.
The first thought was: Who am I, where am I, what do I need to do?
Then came: kissed senseless, completely humiliated.
That really was tomato juice, not some fake beverage mixed with blood. How could the Blood Princess even drink that?
Didn’t they all treat anything other than fresh blood as poison?
But none of that mattered. What mattered was how long were the maids at the door going to keep peeking?!
Peeking was one thing, but they kept making those “whoa whoa” sounds!
Charles’s murderous gaze turned toward them, and the door slammed shut with a bang.
But she could still hear the maids’ snickering.
“Who would have thought Master Sophie, usually cold as ice, would have such a passionate side.”
“Master Charles, who can make children stop crying, had absolutely no ability to talk back!”
“Master Charles is purely defenseless, can’t do anything at all.”
“I can already sense that Master Charles will be meowing like a cat tonight!”
Damn it!
I’m a legendary hunter—if I hadn’t become a thrall, how could I have been taken advantage of so much?
Otherwise, with the Blood Princess’s small frame, who knows who would be pushing whom down!
Run, must run, definitely have to escape tonight!
She just couldn’t swallow this insult!
Charles grabbed the Moon Red and thrust it in front of Sophie, saying viciously: “Drink!”
This was clearly an elegant and expensive wine that needed to be savored, yet Charles was treating it like worthless plain water.
Sophie smiled gracefully: “The abacus beads are falling onto your face—I won’t drink it.”
Hearing this, Charles sneered coldly: “Today you’ll drink whether you want to or not!”
She didn’t want to act in this play anymore.
In the end, she was always the one at a disadvantage anyway.
Better to take all the losses at the beginning so there would be no more losses for the other party to give her.
Hearing Charles’s threat, Sophie merely covered her mouth and laughed softly.
Sitting down beside Charles, she looked at her with seductive eyes and teased, “If you want me to drink, at the very least you should be properly courteous—open the bottle, offer the wine, then kneel on one knee, hold the cup with both hands, lower your head, and respectfully say ‘Master, please enjoy the wine,’ right? Small fry Charles~”
In your dreams!
Charles’s eyes widened, her gaze growing more crazed: “I’ll say this one last time—drink!”
“If I say no, what can you do to me?”
Sophie laughed mockingly, lifting Charles’s chin with her fingertip, speaking unhurriedly:
“No matter how you struggle, it’s useless. In the eyes of the world, you’ve already perished together with me. You’re a hero, Charles.
Even if you successfully contact the Demon Hunter Association, it’s meaningless—a waste of effort, because you can’t leave here. You can only stay with me forever.”
She knew all along!
“You!”
“Shh—”
Sophie’s soft index finger pressed against Charles’s lips.
She leaned close to Charles’s ear, almost biting her earlobe, with a playful teasing laugh, smiling as she said:
“So now, tell me—if I don’t drink today and don’t let you escape, what can you do about it?”
“Small~ fry~”
Boom!
These words were like a flame on a fuse, directly detonating all the frustration Charles had accumulated over these days!
With a bang.
Charles directly crushed the neck of the Moon Red bottle, gulped it down into her own mouth, then committed the first irrational act of her life—
She grabbed Sophie’s chin and directly sealed her lips!
Even though it looked rash and unplanned, it was undoubtedly very effective!
Sophie trembled slightly from embarrassment, her earlier composure seeming like a ridiculous facade, shattered to pieces by this kiss.
Her eyes widened in disbelief that Charles would be so proactive.
There was no technique, the clumsiness and inexperience were palpable, there was even a sense of crude imitation, but one thing was undeniable.
Sophie had absolutely no reason to refuse.
While still somewhat conscious, a thought flashed through her mind.
This was an open scheme.
Even knowing what Charles wanted to do, she had no choice but to accept it.
How cunning!
This way, she could only lose, couldn’t she?
Being retaliated against with tit-for-tat, yet having no choice but to comply with Charles’s wishes…
…
Outside the door, the maids who wanted to peek through the crack were all chased away by Shia.
She herself leaned against the door with her back, covering her ears with both hands, her tail swaying happily, her expressionless face tinged with a slight blush.
Fortunately, her efforts paid off—the Blood Princess finally showed a peaceful sleeping face.
Now there were no more obstacles!
Charles came to the window covered by curtains and pulled them open with a whoosh.
Blood-red radiance spilled in from outside.
Freedom, here I come!
