Chapter Index

It had been three years since I became Eleanore’s servant.

In my previous life, I felt time passed quickly enough, but in this life… specifically, since becoming a servant, it felt like things were moving even faster.

Well, that’s probably because every day was so hectic I didn’t have time to check the passage of time… Especially recently, the busyness was…

With three years having passed, I was—since I was an orphan, my exact birthday was unknown—10 years old, and Eleanore was also approaching 10 years old.

The people of this world apparently celebrate birthdays at ages like 10 or 20—nice round numbers, or rather, multiples of 10—in an especially lavish manner.

Even in the main game, there were birthday party events for the romance targets.

Of course, Eleanore’s case was no exception, and there were plans to grandly celebrate by inviting nearby nobles and high-ranking nobles like marquises she had connections with.

…Therefore, we on the preparation side were extremely busy.

“Haaaaah…”

And so, I was thoroughly exhausted.

No, I’d been taking this a bit too lightly. Specifically, the scale of noble parties and this world’s inconveniences—or rather, my previous life’s conveniences.

Partly due to her high position as a count’s daughter, a large number of people would be gathering.

Of course, that meant we needed massive amounts of food and drink, and personnel to handle operations, security, entertainment, and such, and I ended up running all over the place to secure these things.

After all, this world had no telephones or means of long-distance communication.

The only thing we had was letters, but even those had their limits. So there were quite many occasions where I had to go out in person.

If you do that, well, of course you’d get tired.

I had some confidence in my stamina in this life, but I was still approaching the limits of my fatigue.

“Ah, thank you for your hard work, Arcs-sama.”

As I slumped over my desk, someone called out to me from behind.

I turned my gaze as far as possible in that direction, but being directly behind me, I couldn’t possibly see them, and I could only confirm their appearance when the owner of the voice came closer.

“Ah… Nanai-san, thank you for your hard work as well.”

I somehow straightened my posture while responding to her in her maid outfit.

Nanai-san was Eleanore’s previous caretaker.

She was the second youngest servant in this mansion after me, in her twenties. From 10 years old to twenties… quite a gap, but that’s because I’m too young. If you consider my previous life, we’d be fairly close in age range.

Well, for that reason, we often had things in common to talk about, and since she currently held a position as my instructor of sorts, we had many opportunities to exchange words like this.

“You seem quite exhausted.”

“Yes… I’m quite exhausted indeed. The day before is certainly busy.”

“Indeed… But thanks to Arcs-sama’s efforts, I’ve heard from everyone that tomorrow’s preparations are perfect.”

“Is that so… That’s a relief.”

Well, that had better be the case.

What possessed them to give a 10-year-old child a position leading all sorts of things, really.

Normally, a mere servant wouldn’t get this tired.

The cause of this exhaustion was being in a quasi-leader position.

“Truly, Arcs-sama is a splendid person. Leading us with various ideas… This proceeding so smoothly is all thanks to you.”

Ideas.

Well, all of that was just knowledge from my previous life though.

I had been involved in event and wedding party operations a bit, so I just applied that experience.

But apparently many of my suggestions were quite novel in this life, and having my achievements recognized—or rather, because of that—I ended up being assigned these troublesome jobs.

“But, well… It’s all for Eleanore-sama.”

Although it came about through circumstances, ultimately that was everything.

More than as a servant, as one friend, I wanted to grandly celebrate her birthday.

Thinking that this comes around every 10 years is food for thought, but well, this was the first time since I met her.

A little fatigue is nothing.

“Create Stone”

I suddenly chanted a spell.

Then, a rock was generated from thin air, so I manipulated it like clay, bending it around to shape it into a long, thin form like a sword.

“Well then, I’ll go do some training for a bit.”

“Eh, starting now!?”

“Skills and the body begin deteriorating from the very day you slack off. Tomorrow I probably won’t have much time, and if I don’t build up reserves today…”

Well, it’s spiritual theory with no basis, a theory I came up with as an amateur on a whim.

But by upholding this as my belief, I’ve somehow managed to acquire reasonable abilities.

“B-but, aren’t you exhausted?”

“I am… but well, such things—Resurrection”

Small sparkling lights enveloped me.

Then immediately, my heavy body became light.

“This is no problem.”

A recovery spell beginners would use, but it’s quite convenient. It doesn’t use much magic power so I can use it like energy drinks from my previous life, and this one doesn’t have health concerns.

Well, it can’t recover mental fatigue, so if I overdo it, my spirit wears down.

“Well then, see you tomorrow. Let’s do our best.”

“…Y-yes.”

Leaving behind Nanai-san with a dumbfounded expression, I headed toward the open area in the garden.
